Mohammad Rafi

Mohammad Rafi is one of the legend of hindi film industry who ruled over the heart and mind of people around the world. His unique voice quality and singing talent has engrossed millions of his fans with pleasure and sadness. He was considered to be one of the most versatile singers in Indian Cinema and Bollywood.

Rafi was born in a small village in Punjab in 24th December 1924. He later went to Lahore when he was 14. He got trained under Khan Abdul Waheed Khan, Jeevanlal Matto and Ghulam Ali Khan. He got his first break in 1944 for a Punjabi film Gul Baloch.

He got recognition with the song Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki in 1949. After that he was the most popular playback singer of that time and sung thousands of songs and gave indian cinema lots of memorable hit songs. Although of his fame he was always humble and soft in nature. Though Rafi is no more but his soulful songs will remind us of him in many generations to come.
