Mukesh

Mukesh was born in Delhi and was interested in acting and singing right from his early days. He moved to Bombay to become an actor and stayed with his relative the famous actor Motilal.

His debut as a singer waas in the film Nirdosh for the song dil hi bujha hua ho to. In 1945 Mukesh sung dil jalta hai to jalne de in Pehli Nazar which was a huge hit. Afterwards he sung numerous songs from Aag, Mela, Veena and become famous. In 1949 Shanker-Jaikishen signed Mukesh to sing for them. From then onwards he became the singer for most of the songs picturised on Raj Kapoor. Mukesh sung awara hoon and mera joota hai japani in films like Aawara and Shree 420 which will remain in the lips of millions in the centuries to come.
