Talat Mehmood

Talat Mehmood was born on 24th Feb 1924 in Lucknow. He had a musical family backgruond with his father and sisters being singers as well. His presence as a playback singer came into being with the song "tasveer tere dil mera behla na sakegi" which was a huge hit. After that he sung above 5000 songs in different languages.

Talat had also acted in several films but he was more liked for his singing. He has got a silky voice and the soulful melodious renditions in his ghazals makes him win the hearts of millions of fans around the world. He is also regarded as the King of Ghazals. Most of his famous ghazals were picturised on Dilip Kumar.

Talat Mehmood suffered from Parkinsons disease and had to give up singing. He passed away on 9th May 1998 but he will still be alive in the hearts of his fans and among the soulful songs he sung.
